rebel at last!!!

Saturday, June 25, 2005

finally!

nakuha ko na ang pinakamimithi ko!

ang rebel xt. this is also known as the 350D. i was opting for the silver colored, too bad, no silver release here in pinas.

anyway, silver or black, it's still a rebel. no more, no less.

im really really itchng, drooling, aching to have this one

i can't work, i can't focus on anything, i practically can't do anything. my mind would often wander in dreamland, with me cradling in my arms the rebel xt.

i'm thinking of different strategies on how i may be able to snatch this one.

1. beg for money from tatay.

2. salary loan

3. get a rich boyfriend

4. raise funds by soliciting/begging from friends/officemates/relatives.

smashing through banks is a no no.. i'm trying to set up a reachable goal here.

starting from the bottom most option, which is raising funds by soliciting from people around me - hhmm... the rebel xt costs $1,000, that is roughly 55,000 in peso. in soliciting money, i'd be lucky if someone hands me 50 pesos. and just how many people do i know who'd be willing to give me money just to satisfy my obsession?

next one, get a rich boyfriend. i just mentioned that i'm setting up a reachable goal. how on earth can i get a rich boyfriend??? and besides, it's against my values to use someone for my own happiness (it's true it's true!) ...

the second on list, salary loan. getting a loan will not suffice the cost of this rebel. as what i've heard, a poor, teeny weeny employee like me is only allowed to have a month's worh of loan only. that's it.

and there, i'm stuck with option #1. beg, really beg. and how am i going to do that??? knowing how strict my father is, specially on hadling money (even if it's my own money). i still have a slim chance on this. however, i'd still like to give it a shot.

we've got new members of the haus! meet the kittens...

they are muning's daughters - 3rd batch. actually, there's three of them. the other one is missing in action. they're still nameless as of now.

notes on the photos: i was in our duyan, reading the newspaper. as i was getting down, i saw the two kittens sleeping on top of my pink slippers. they looked so cute! since my camera is with jane (she's in subic - company outing), i took out my phone camera instead. i can't let the moment pass by.

on wire-tapping

Thursday, June 16, 2005

It's the talk of the town nowadays, the latest issue everybody's been buzzing about - wire-tapping, the mother of all tapes and voices behind it. While I do believe that it was really GMA's, I'm more concerned with the former --- wire-tapping. What if my phone line is being tapped? How will my voice sound like? I've heard the purportedly faked tape in the news and it sounded more like ate Glo (the comedian) bluffing than GMA's. "takot lang ni ate glo" my mother said in a snap.

I hate the idea that someone out there is listening to my conversations over the phone. There are lots of things that I'd rather keep. People know that I'm the mushy type, but I don't like someone listening over the phone line and hear how much I get spongy when I talk to my friends about my oh so pathetic life. People know that my mother is IT illiterate, wait, illiterate is too strong, she's just uneducated with IT stuffs. There, sounds better. She'll call just to ask me how to attach a file in her email, and I don't want someone hearing how I instruct her patiently and how she impatiently reacts on it. People know that I have little patience over agents (call centers) and my favorite of all are those working for my credit card company. However, I don't want someone hearing my voice getting on the top of my lungs just because my statement of account was delivered late again. People know that I'm such a lousy liar, and I don't want someone hearing me stutter, my tongue tripping, gasping for the right words.

And what if my oh so private conversations were obtained? Will I also get the privilege to hide inside the seminary? And then what, make a confession to all the priests there? Well, maybe my hiding will be a different story.

And will my conversations get transformed into a ring tone also? I wonder who would be interested.

ang gumamela, bow

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

here's an excerpt from my email to my tribo (our family's egroups - mother's side):

6am, lola and i were going to the bakery to buy pandesal (a stone's throw away from the haus). nakita ko na may gumamela sa gilid ng bahay. by the way, there used to be a boy who delivers pandesal every morning, kaya lang lagi napapagalitan ni lola kase lagi late dumadating. and besides, ang pandesal nya ay inokray-okray na ni lola kase maliit daw at halos hangin lang ang laman. pero hindi pandesal ang bida ng storya dito kundi ang gumamela plant. ito daw yung gumamela na galing sa mommy ni tito jun. bonsai daw ito dati, tapos nilipat ni lola sa malaking paso until nilipat na sa gilid ng bahay. kaninang umaga ko lang nagpagmasdan mabuti. madami daw itong bulaklak kaya lang may mga batang sutil na pumitas kaya konti na lang ang natira. kaya eto na ang mga pictures ng gumamela.

should i or should i not???

He just went online. And here am I once again, thinking if I'd sent him a message or not. I actually did once, I sent him a simple hello. He replied - "who's this?", I did not reply back after that. And what do I tell? That I am just a chatter who happened to stumble on his handle? And how could I tell him how I "happened" to found his handle? Do I tell him that he could be the guy.....?

Oh well, maybe on of these days, I'd be able to muster all the courage to talk, or rather chat with him.

pesky

i could stand having pimples on my cheeks, on my forehead, on my chin... but not on my nose!!!!

i have this humungous pimple right smack in the middle of my nose waiting to explode. i look like rudolf, the red-nosed reindeer. this is torture!!! it even throbs, like it has a life of its own. it refuses to go away. how am i going to face people with something like this on my face, worst, on my nose. i feel like i need to explain (when talking to people) that it's not my fault this pimple came in, that even if i wash my face 2 - 3 times a day pesky pimples still find a way to sneak in. aarrgghh!!!

i hope this would be over soon...

singapore trip

continuation...

After the Chinese temple, the next stop was at the Faber mountain, the gateway to Sentosa. Entrance to Sentosa was not included in the package.

The last stop was at the Jewelry City. As the name goes, it's a shop full of jewels. We were told that jewelries at the said shop are cheaper than the ones sold in the malls. I'm no jewelry expert, so I wasn't able to distinguish if the price tag really fits each bejeweled item . Anyway, jewelry shopping was not included in my budget.

After the tour, Ona and I decided to spend the remaining half day at the Sentosa. Sentosa is like a giant theme park, resort, zoo all wrapped into one. Entrance was at the Mount Faber. We availed the tour 1 package which includes 1) scenic cable ride (round trip), 2) island admission, 3) butterfly park, 4) insect kingdom, 5) underwater world and the 6)dolphin lagoon. The package costs S$56.

From Mount Faber, we took the cable car to get to Sentosa. By the way, Ona and I have developed this severe fear, phobia rather, of getting close with --- teka Tagalog na lang sa parting to, mahirap na. Haay..

And because of our phobia with the janjans, Ona and I have been picky in falling in line starting from the cable car ride. We had to make sure that we don't get close with the janjans.

We shared the cable car with a janjan couple. Dyahe. Ngunit isang himala, hindi sila mabaho! Hay salamat. Ayan, meron naman palang janjan na marunong maligo.

It was my first time to ride a cable car. Since I have this fear of heights, I felt uneasy during the earlier part of the ride. But as we went on, and seeing the great view below, my fears slowly faded away.

We got down at Sentosa after a few minutes. We were instructed to wait beside the souvenir shop for the guided tour. After few minutes of waiting, we assembled outside the shop and were given a copy of the park's map/brochure. Our first stop was at the Butterfly world then at the Insect world. Of all, the best part was at the Underwater world. Just refer to the pictures for details ;) (tamad mag-type)

We've finished our tour in 5 hours. Feeling icky and tired, we went back to the hotel to take a shower just before dinner. We met up with kuya (ona's older brother who's assigned in Singapore as an accountant and been there for more then 2 years).

Ona and I insisted that we wanted to see what the Fountain of Wealth looks like at night, since we have been told that it operates at night. Unfortunately, it was not operating the time we got there. There was an occasion held right at the fountain area.

Monday, May 23.

Had breakfast at 8am and met up with kuya at 10 at the MRT. We're going to the zoo!!!

Admission to the zoo costs S$18. Refer to the pictures for the rest of the trip. ;)

Tuesday, May 24.

Had breakfast at 6am since we're leaving by 7. This was our last day at Singapore.
